Timothy M. Prime, Esquire: Celebrating 50 Years of Dedication and Vision

Prime Tuvel & Miceli is proud to celebrate Timothy M. Prime’s 50th anniversary, marking a milestone of five decades of dedicated legal service. As a firm founded by Tim, we asked him to reflect on the journey, growth, and the unwavering commitment to our clients that has defined us.

Meet Our Founder

Timothy M. Prime is a cornerstone of our firm, and is well-respected in the commercial development industry with a notable history of securing project approvals throughout the state of New Jersey. Beyond his legal expertise, Tim is a pillar of the community, having raised his family in Medford where he also serves as the Township attorney. His deep connection to the local community, combined with his extensive knowledge of Land Use and approachable demeanor, have been invaluable assets and have significantly shaped our firm’s identity.

Maintaining Our Core Mission for Five Decades

Prime Tuvel & Miceli, is a boutique law firm headquartered in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, focused primarily on Land Use and Redevelopment matters in the tri state area (NJ-PA-NY). Since inception in 1975, our core principle has been to ensure a high level of service and dedication to each client. When asked about what sets Prime Tuvel & Miceli apart from other firms, Tim responded:

“We treat our clients as partners in their business. We quarterback their projects as if they are our own. Our clients know that we truly care about them. We also keep and maintain a strong support staff, many of whom have been with us for years and have our same commitment to service.”

The Value of Long-Term Relationships

Tim’s dedication for the past 50 years has been fueled by his genuine appreciation for the relationships he has cultivated throughout his career. Regarding the most rewarding part of his career, Tim explained, “Practicing law is a service business. We have had clients that we have represented for over 40 years, and, in one case, a client that I began representing only a few years after starting the firm. The satisfaction that comes from our relationship with these long-standing clients, and continuing to add them, is the reason that I continue to practice law.” This sentiment truly underscores our firm’s client-centered approach and Tim’s dedicated efforts.

Growth & Our People

Prime Tuvel & Miceli values its employees immensely. Starting as a small legal firm focused on Land Use, we have grown into a mid-sized practice with approximately 25 legal professionals. When discussing the firm’s significant growth over the past decade, Tim pointed to his sons, who are also his business partners and attorneys of PTM, as the key drivers. “I had very little to do with it. Duncan (Prime) and Tyler (Prime) saw the potential to grow and expand what was a small family business. The addition of Jason Tuvel to the firm, who I consider to be one of best attorneys in the state, was the most important factor in the growth of our law firm. Jason’s ability and reputation allowed us to add the North Jersey office, including a great lawyer, Mike Miceli, and the Jersey City office. Our growth gave us the bandwidth to add tremendously talented younger attorneys like Sara Werner, Ben Wine and Danielle Kinback.” Expansion has enabled PTM to broaden its reach, diversify our legal expertise, and better serve our clients.

Client Loyalty and Organic Growth

PTM takes pride in maintaining long-term client relationships, and in growing primarily through word-of-mouth referrals. On the topic of Tim’s greatest achievements during his 50-year career, he shared, “We keep and maintain clients. We almost never lose a client because of our commitment to service. We do no advertising and our only “marketing” is really with existing clients to express our appreciation for their faith in us. Our main source of new business is referral from existing clients.” This has been the foundation of our success, fostering a culture of trust and dedication that benefits both our clients and our team.

Looking Ahead

Today, Duncan M. Prime, Esq., leads the firm as Managing Partner, joined by partners Timothy M. Prime, Tyler T. Prime, Jason R. Tuvel, and Michael Miceli, with offices throughout New Jersey and extending into Pennsylvania and New York. When asked about the future of the firm, Tim shared, “I believe that the firm is going to continue to grow and prosper. My hope is that the firm can maintain the culture that I have tried to establish, treating our clients as our partners and friends while maintaining a small firm mentality that practicing law is only part of a lawyer’s life that includes a healthy lifestyle and making time for our families.” Tim’s vision emphasizes not only professional success, but also a balanced approach to life for the team. Our commitment to our culture and people ensures our future remains rooted in our core values.
